Monday Movement Labs in collaboration with Resident Artist, Rae Luebbert. The Lab is a movement-based, informal performance space for experimentation, emerging ideas, and works in progress. This low-tech environment is intended to serve as a creative space for dance artists to share and discuss works that may be at various stages of the creative process. Monday Movement Lab supports creative risk taking and aims to remove barriers from sharing dance works.
Monday Movement Lab is a low cost series that shows work-in-progress, re-imagined, re-staged, or finished works at various points, and provides structured discussion. This event has created a great opportunity for artists in the very earliest stages of their creative processes or a challenging question they are grappling with in the creative process. The series is designed to support any artist — from emerging to established professionals. It has particularly opened doors for artists from marginalized identities who are not able to access higher education resources in dance and so far, no one interested has been turned away from this non-curated opportunity.
